Country Birth Records - How to Find

By Jason Voxly

The birth records we get when we are born include a whole range of information about us. This includes where we were born, how much we weighed and our parents names and often our parents jobs at the times we were born. The piece of paper we receive is quite small and prone to being lost, the internet has given us the opportunity to retrieve that information easily and quickly.

When you are born the doctor or nurse signs the documents and makes sure they are legitimate. The original copy is kept by the authorities and you are also given a copy. The fact the authorities keep a copy is extremely important, as this should always be available for you to find and copy if required. Throughout life you have to come back to your birth certificate for such regular activities as opening a bank account or getting a passport, so having it in existence is vitally important.

The reason you are looking for your county birth records may be because you simply lost your own and you need to perform a particular act with it, for example signing up for a service that needs your birth certificate. You may also be looking to do some family research and need someone else's birth certificate because not only will it prove they existed, but it may have information about parents on it which you can use for further research. Or, you may just be curious to see if your or someone else's records are there.

Online databases is how you find your documents online, you can search with a few clicks and sometimes get your results for free. Whatever fee you have to pay you can rest assured it will be cheaper than the endless hours you would, or have spent searching the country for birth records only to be knocked back time after time. Searching online is comfortable, do it at home or at work, and do it as many times as you want whilst watching your favourite soap or football game.

If you decide this is for you, and I expect you will considering you can take away the hard work and do it from your own home, then you need to do your research. Don't dive in and sign up to the first one you find without checking the competition. Make sure the site you're on offers all the benefits the others do, and make sure any information you give to them will not be sold or used in a way you don't want. The amount of times people have to get new email addresses because they signed up for countless things that spam them non-stop is extremely high.

Good luck with your search and I hope you find the birth records you are looking for.
